More Harvesting and Demolition

The helpful volunteers from the Sandy Utah Hillcrest Stake and the West Jordan Utah Hertitage Stake assisted the dedicated service missionaries were busy this evening.

Zucchini, summer squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, melons, beets, peppers were harvested. The greenhouse continues to be demolished.

The Sandy Utah Crops has provided the Bishop's Storehouse with an accumulation of 16,355 lbs of produce to date. The Sandy Utah Crops has provided the Utah Food Bank with an accumulation of 1,127 lbs of produce to date.

About Us

The Sandy Vegetable Project was started in 1978 by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a church welfare farm. The vegetables grown at this farm are sent to the Bishop's Storehouse in Sandy, UT, or to the Utah Food Bank. There are 20+ volunteer service-missionaries called to work at the farm each harvest season from spring until fall. The missionaries oversee the many volunteers who come from 44 stakes around the valley to help with the work. During the 2017 season, more than 42,000 pounds of vegetables were harvested at the farm for the bishop's storehouse.
