Soil Prep

Lots of soil prep went on tonight. The crew has been working on shoveling manure to fertilize the beds the past couple of days. With the good help of some volunteers, the task was completed tonight. We also had the tractor out in the field tilling the soil. Very busy night at the farm.

Happy St. Patty's Day from the Farm!

On this fine St. Patrick's Day our service missionaries were out tilling the soil. We're lucky to have such good help on the farm this year!

About Us

The Sandy Vegetable Project was started in 1978 by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a church welfare farm. The vegetables grown at this farm are sent to the Bishop's Storehouse in Sandy, UT, or to the Utah Food Bank. There are 20+ volunteer service-missionaries called to work at the farm each harvest season from spring until fall. The missionaries oversee the many volunteers who come from 44 stakes around the valley to help with the work. During the 2017 season, more than 42,000 pounds of vegetables were harvested at the farm for the bishop's storehouse.
