The farm is bursting with veggies!! We've been a little short-handed around here and are trying our best to keep up. Tonight we appreciated the help from the West Jordan Heritage and South Jordan UT River Ridge Stakes. We harvested 644 pounds of summer squash, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, corn, celery, and spaghetti squash.
The Licona Family came to help out at the farm today. They are non-members and were really impressed with the work we are doing. They want to come back on Tuesday and do more. They made excellent tomato pickers. Thank you!
Our missionary circle was so big tonight! We love all of the missionaries who are serving at the farm. It's a wonderful calling that is so different and rewarding.
We are grateful for all the brothers from the South Jordan Utah River Stake who helped us at the farm tonight. We gathered our harvest, fertilized and tilled some beds, washed the veggies, and weeded in the field.
We had another EXCITING delivery at the farm tonight. Warren's been working on his EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT of building hose holders for the farm. He made them out of PVC pipes. Tonight he came by with his dad and brother and delivered them. Thank you, Warren! We will put them to good use.
Tonight we had some great volunteers from the Sandy UT Granite South and Sandy UT Hidden Valley Stakes. We had a young women's group who attend Jordan High School come. They were excited to dig beets seeing how they are the beetdiggers! We also had a big crew out harvesting, working in the field, and preparing new grow boxes for the next round of crops. Well done!
