A Hot August Night

Hardworking  volunteers from the Sandy Utah Alta View Stake assisted  missionaries with harvesting melons, hot  peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, various types of squash, and zucchini.

The Sandy  Vegetable  Project  has  provided a total of 8,296 lbs of produce for the Bishop's Storehouse to date.

A Quiet Morning in the Garden

The faithful  members of the  Sandy  Utah  YSA  Stake  served  this  morning. The missionaries  and  volunteers  harvested  carrots, cucumbers, spaghetti  squash, zucchini, yellow squash, melons, corn, bell peppers and tomatoes.

The Sandy  Vegetable  Project has  provided 7,542 lbs of produce for the Bishop's Storehouse to date.

Another Ideal Evening to Volunteer

Helpful volunteers from the Sandy Utah West Stake and the Sandy Utah Crescent Ridge Stake assisted  missionaries with  harvesting  cucumbers,  sweet  peppers, hot  peppers, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, melons, spaghetti squash and corn.  In addition, zucchini was planted.

The Sandy Vegetable Project has produced 6,132 lbs of vegetables to date.

Many are Called and Few are Harvesting

Faithful volunteers from the Sandy Utah Hillcrest Stake and the Draper Utah Eastridge Stake assisted  missionaries with harvesting tomatoes, zucchini, yellow  squash, cucumbers, zephyr  squash. Volunteers also cleaned out several  boxes. Missionaries and volunteers planted additional zucchini and yellow crookneck  squash crops.

A Perfect Time to Volunteer

Missionaries  and volunteers from the Sandy Utah Central Stake and the Sandy Utah Crescent North Stake     harvested cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, cherry tomatoes, winter squash and lettuce. As always, there was weeding in the field and between the growboxes.

The Sandy  Vegetable  Project  total produce accumulation to date is 4,602  lbs.

Harvesting Weeds

Helpful volunteers from the South Jordan River Stake and the South  Jordan Utah River Stake assisted with harvesting cucumbers, yellow  squash, zucchini, corn, spaghetti squash.  Missionaries  and  volunteers weeded in the field where the weeds are growing  well.

The total vegetable accumulation to date  is 4,281 lbs.

Another Peaceful Morning at the Farm

Helpful  volunteers from the Sandy Utah Lone Peak Stake and Sandy Utah East harvested  lettuce, zucchini, yellow  squash, cucumbers, green peppers, Anaheim peppers, tomatoes, corn, carrots, cabbge and broccoli.

Volunteers  also  weeded  in  the  field.

A Smokey Summer Night

The helpful  volunteers  from  the Salt Lake Cottonwood Stake   harvested corn, cherry tomatoes , cucumbers, yellow squash, spaghetti squash, zephyr  squash, zucchini, and carrots.

Missionaries and volunteers leveled and sloped the road base gravel   between the grow boxes.  Missionaries worked on the  irrigation pipe to patch the leak.  Volunteers also weeded in the field.

Many thanks for the many people who are willing to serve, especially  when the valley is under an air action day due to the range fires in the region.

A Hot Summer Night

Dedicated volunteers from the Salt Lake Butler West Stake and the  Salt Lake Big Cottonwood  Stake weeded in the field  among the corn. Volunteers and missionaries harvested  lettuce, zucchini, yellow  squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, and corn. 

A heartfelt thank you to our missionaries and volunteers, especially when the temperature is in the mid nineties.

The total harvest accommodation as of July  30 is 2,763 lbs.
