Update on the Killdeer Eggs
The breeding pair of killdeer laid four eggs. The first egg was dropped during an unsuccessful attempt to relocate the nest. The second egg disappered and the consensus is that it was eaten by a predator. The third egg hatched, but the chick disappered after two days. The fourth egg is all that remains.

Lots of Seeding and Crop Covering
Many helpful volunteers from the Salt Lake Big Cottonwood Stake and the Salt Lake Butler West Stake secured weed cloth in the field and removed the cover from the fledgling cucumbers. The volunteers also assisted with assembly of the temporary greenhouse. The service missionaries and volunteers planted butternut squash, several types of acorn squash, spaghetti squash, delicata squash, watermelon and cantaloupe,

Many Helpful Hands
Many helpful and hardworking volunteers from the Draper Utah Stake and the Salt Lake Cottonwood Heights Stake came tonight to weed between the growboxes, paint the frames for the temporary greenhouse and continue to level the dirt in the field for future planting.

Scatter Sunshine
Tonight at the farm we enjoyed the good services rendered from the Salt Lake Brighton Stake and the South Jordan River Ridge Stake. These volunteers scattered their sunshine all along the farm doing a variety of tasks. They planted hundreds of seeds in the greenhouse, transplanted the cauliflower and broccoli into the grow boxes, put black nets over the cabbage, and raked the field.

Plentiful Planting
Hardworking volunteers from the Sandy Utah Granite View Stake and the Sandy Utah Midvalleý Stake continued to rake the field in preparation for future crop planting. They removed the cloth from the fledgling carrots, broccoli, cabbge, and cauliflower transplants. Service missionaries transplanted red, green, romaine and iceburg lettuce.

Spring Cleaning
Hardworking volunteers from the Granite and Alta View Stakes helped rake the field in preparation for crop planting, removed the sediment from the tank, and plant cabbage. The irrigation water was run for the first time this planting season.
A Rainy Day Clean Up
Dedicated volunteers from the Sandy Utah Crescent Ridge Stake helped clean up after yesterday's rain storm. Volunteers separated trash from the compost, sanitizing seed trays and repositioning covers over the carrot beds.

The Cycle of Life Begins
A breeding pair of killdeer have chosen grow box # 64 to build a nest and lay four eggs. There are two eggs remaining. One egg was dropped when the nest was moved during an unsuccessful attempt to relocate it. The second egg disappeared. Speculation is that a predidor snatched the egg.

The dedicated volunteers from the Sandy Utah Cottonwood Creek Stake and the Sandy Utah Willow Creek Stake laid and secured the weed cloth for the squash, removed rocks from the field, weeded between grow boxes.
